Whether in tennis, badminton or even table tennis: In all racquet sports, players who, although they don't play particularly offensively or powerfully, make almost no mistakes and return every attack, no matter how hard, are feared by their opponents and get on their last nerve in the game. The wooden Palio Chop No. 1 has a slightly larger club face compared to most “normal” blades and plays extremely sensitively and controlled. This means that both kicking and blocking balls at the table as well as (balloon) defensive balls can be played back safely far behind the plate. The straight handle also makes it easier to turn the racket during rallies, making your game even more variable.
For the forehand we chose the Geospin Tacky rubber from Friendship . Thanks to its sticky top rubber, enormous backspin can be generated when hitting and defending shots, which makes it almost impossible for your opponent to launch another attacking shot. With the sponge only 1.5mm thick, the rubber is also very controlled and has a pleasantly flat ball bounce.
For the backhand side, we chose the Palio CK531 A. As a long pimple rubber, it has the advantage that it is significantly less sensitive to cuts compared to a conventional “pimples inside” rubber, whose surface is non-slip. This makes it much easier to return dangerous serves and hard, rotation-rich topspins. And not only that: thanks to the lower friction of the surface, the opponent even gets the cut back!
We chose the version with a 1.0mm thick sponge because it allows a little more variability compared to the “OX” version without a sponge. This means that defensive balls (similar to a slice in tennis) can be played both with a lot of backspin and “empty”, i.e. completely without rotation - these changes in cut drive your opponent to despair!
